I can’t see the Kyoto protocol making any headway - there are enough blocks in place, especially from the US and China, that it is wholly unlikely that it will go on. We need to be pragmatic.

This is a good thing. Why? Because it was a form of rewarding the wealthy (property owners) combined with a remarkably inefficient way of reducing carbon emissions. PV cells are pretty much useless in the UK - especially when one considers the time of peak electricity demand is between 5-7pm of a Winter evening. Not much sun around then, is there?
